One focus of good quality math instruction is to teach math fact mastery. In class we will be talking about strategies to help us get to the answer of a math fact. Then, once we understand the strategy we will practice our math facts. Knowing strategies and practicing number sense will help us learn math facts faster. Research shows that once you do this, drill practice in short amounts of time can help with the speed of recalling math facts.
